Mystery of Jodhpur Boom

Jodhpur is little town in Rajasthan, India. It is called as the Sun City or the Blue City and is the second largest city of Rajasthan. Jodhpur is one of the best tourist destinations in India. But there is something mysterious about this place.

On December 18, 2012, precisely at 11:25 AM, people of Jodhpur were startled by a deafening sound appeared out of nowhere in the sky. That sound resembled the sound caused by a jet plane crossing the speed of sound. This phenomenon is known as a sonic boom.

The incident prompted people to enquire from the control room about any explosion. Initially, the rumors spread that the sound was an outcome of a sonic boom caused by a new breed of aircrafts tested by the Air Force or perhaps it was caused by an explosion in the ammunition storehouse of the nearby army area.

As per some rules, no sonic boom should take place in township areas. It can happen beyond 60 km from town areas when an aircraft carries out a test flight. According to Colonel Goswami,such explosion in township area can lead severe damage to properties like crumbling of window panels and etc.

The weirdest part is, the entire month was littered with strange, unexplained booms all over the world, from United Kingdom to Texas, USA.

However, it was more aggressive in nature, sounding a lot like a massive explosion. The citizens were concerned about the sound and asked around about it.

In one of the locations, a geologist even stated that the booms and subsequent tremors were unlike anything he had ever encountered and didn’t fit the official explanation that the Air Force were testing a new plane.

The sound was so loud that some people thought that the Earth was coming to an end as the Mayan Calendar predicted the Earth will be destroyed in 2012. Till now there is no any perfect answer to explain about these strange sounds. Let us hope someday we can be able to know the truth behind this Jodhpur boom.
